UnderboothARTISTS

FOR INDEPENDENT DJS & PRODUCERS.

Good music.
Now let’s
make things
happen.

You’re the artist, the booker, the manager, and the social media person. Underbooth helps you figure out that side of the job—and actually get it moving.

FOR THE PEOPLE
BEHIND THE MUSIC.
YOUR MUSIC.
YOUR NEXT MOVE.

THE INDEPENDENT PHASE

Waiting for a team?
Start with you.

Maybe you’re thinking a manager or booking agent will sort it out. But a good team usually wants to see something moving already: music out, people paying attention, gigs happening. The first bit of momentum is yours to build.

And you might never want a team. Maybe it’s a couple of gigs at the weekend. Maybe it’s a festival you’ve always wanted to play. That’s fine too. The point is to understand what you want and learn how to move it forward.

WHAT WE TEACH

Create. Connect.
Confirm.

Three things to keep working on. Together, they give your music somewhere to go.

01

Create.

Give people something to care about.

Your mixes, your releases, the music you share. That’s the starting point. Learn how to build content around it, make it a habit, and improve it as you go. When somebody checks you out, give them something worth sticking around for.

02

Connect.

Pick your people. Break the ice.

You don’t need to reach the whole music industry. Find the events already booking your sound. Understand what those people care about, work out what you can bring to the table, and start a conversation.

03

Confirm.

Ask the question. Make things happen.

Being a good artist and knowing the right people only gets you so far. Learn to make a clear proposal, follow up with something worth saying, and build your own events, shows, or projects along the way.

HOW WE APPROACH IT

Get it going.
Keep it going.
Make it better.

01

Make it easy enough to keep doing.

If creating content takes over your life, you’re not going to stick with it. Find a format you enjoy, make a few pieces in one go, and build a rhythm that leaves room for the music.

02

Keep the framework. Change the music.

A DJ set follows a framework. So does a track. The music inside it is what makes it yours. Your content can work the same way—you don’t need to pull a brand-new idea out of thin air every time.

03

Give the other person a reason to care.

Promoters aren’t short of DJs. Before you send “I’d love to play”, think about the fit: your sound, your audience, your ideas. Start a conversation that’s easy to reply to. Build from there.

ABOUT UNDERBOOTH

Music first.
Then the work
around it.

You’ve got the music. Let’s give people a way to find it.

If you’re playing great sets in your studio with the windows closed, a booker has no way of knowing. We help artists get their work out into the world and put it in front of people it makes sense for.

Underbooth is led by Mikey, founder of Wunderground. The approach comes from years of building audiences and working with clubs, festivals, and artists in dance music.

We teach the practical bits: what to create, who to speak to, what to say, and how to keep moving when the first message doesn’t turn into a booking. Things you can put to work around your own music.
